Who is eligible for interline pricing?
An employee of an airline or qualifying company (active or retired), employees spouse, dependant children and parents and in-laws of the employee.

Can I take friends along at the interline price?
Yes! As long as they are sharing a cabin with the eligible employee. In some cases, friends can travel in their own cabin at the same rate when traveling with the interliner. Remember, there are different rules for every departure. We will help you find what is best for you and your family. We know the interline market better than anyone else, that is why our clients keep coming back again and again.

Do parents and in-laws have to travel with the airline employee?
It is surprising how many airline employees DO NOT realize that they can extend these benefits to their parents and in-laws AND they don't even have to travel with the employee. It is easy! Your parents can call Dargal directly and we would be happy to register them to get access to our pricing and send them email updates weekly or they can go to our website at www.dargal.com and register themselves. We will take care of your parents like they were our own!

Why would I book with an interline agency when there are other low rates with some retail agencies?
We have had so many situations where an interliner booked through a retail agency at a low rate AND THEN a lower rate became available through interline. You know what? A retail agency cannot offer you the interline rate WHEN it becomes available. At Dargal we have access to the lowest cruise only rates and the interline rates. So what does that mean to you? At Dargal, we have direct access into our suppliers inventory.....something no other interline agency has. We also get access to the lowest retail and interline rates in the marketplace. We know the interline market better than anyone else, which means we keep finding the best rate for you again and again.

No guest under the age of 21 will be booked in a stateroom unless they are with an adult 25 years or older. This age will be waived for underage married couples (proof of marriage is required) and minor children sailing with their parents or guardians in adjacent staterooms.

How do I book a cruise?

Is cruising affordable, and does it have good vacation value?
Yes! There are many cruise types and one will suit you, whether you are budget conscious or looking to escape in luxury. When you cruise, you know the total cost of your trip in advance. Everything is included, except for your drinks, shore excursions, and services such as massages or hairstyling. Your entertainment, meals, cabin, daytime activities and nighttime parties are all taken care of.

When is the most affordable time to take a cruise?
Sailing between the end of August and before Christmas is less expensive, as most families have children in school and plan their vacation time for Christmas or Thanksgiving. Prices are generally better than 2 for 1, with additional reduced rates for third and fourth passengers.

This is the time to look for a senior citizen rate, regional promotions, past passenger promotions, or last minute deals instead of in Winter, Spring, or Summer.

What places can I cruise to?
Dargal can take you to virtually any destination accessible by water. Bermuda, Alaska, Galapagos Islands, South America, Hawaii, Tahiti, Europe, Bahamas, India, the Panama Canal, the Greek Isles, the Orient, and the Caribbean are some of the many destination ports you can visit. If you can name it, we can probably get you there by ship.

Do I need a passport?
You need a proof of citizenship, such as a legal birth certificate or passport to cruise.

What should I pack?
There are many different types of cruises, so it is best to find out the type of clothing required for the cruise. Many ships have formal nights, so we suggest you bring a couple of dresses or suits. While on board, resort wear and sports clothes are fine for the daytime, with low-heeled shoes for deck activities. You will want to have several swimsuits so you'll always have a dry suit. For the evening, we suggest having three types of clothing with you: Casual - sundresses, or slacks and blouses for women; sport shirts and trousers for men for daytime wear. Smart Casual - dresses for women; jackets for men Formal - cocktail dresses for women; suits and ties, or tuxedos, for men When you're ashore, you'll want to have comfortable walking shoes and protection from the sun, with a hat and sunscreen.

Are children welcome?
Most cruise lines make a special point of providing supervised activities for youngsters, especially during school holidays. If your children enjoy swimming, sports, games, movies, and the adventure of new places, they'll love a family cruise. You'll find the kids adapt to shipboard life with ease, and you won't have to wonder what they're up to every minute. The cruise staff will help keep them busy and entertained. Best of all, children generally travel at a substantially reduced rate.

How long are cruises?
As long as you want. Cruises can be as quick as three days to as long as three months, to suit your vacation time.

Are all cruises and ships similar?
There is a vast difference between ships. Ships can range from under 200 feet to over 1,000 feet in length and passengers can vary from 100 passengers to over 2,600. Atmospheres on ships range from casual to formal, classically simple to very luxurious. You can even choose between traditional propeller-driven craft, sail-assisted cruise ships, or even a paddle-wheel river boat.

Will I get sea sick or have motion sickness?
Not likely. The most popular cruise areas boast some of the calmest waters in the world. In addition, stabilizers on modern ships, advance availability of weather information, and development of effective preventative medications have, for the most part, eliminated motion discomfort.

When is the best time to take a cruise?
Cruising is perfect for any time of the year, but some destinations are seasonal. The Caribbean is great year round, yet Alaska's cruising seasons lasts from May to September, Europe from April to November, Bermuda between April and October, and the Panama Canal between September and April. All year, there's a cruise just for you!

This is my first cruise. Which one is right for me?
Everyone has different interests and priorities, so there are some things to consider before making your decision. What price are you looking to spend? How large or new a ship would you like? What type of accommodations are you looking for? What activities would you like on your itinerary? Are you looking to travel with other passengers who have families, similar interests to you, or are around the same age as you?

Are there different classes of service?
Today's cruise ships are one-class, which means that everyone onboard has use of all the ship's facilities. The price of the stateroom is primarily based upon the room's size and location. Whichever package you choose, expect to have the same courteous service, menus, activities and service as every other passenger.

Will I get bored or feel confined?
There are so many activities to do onboard, and it will probably take you two or three days just to explore the ship. Plus, you get the added adventure of exploring new and exciting ports of call. You can lie back and enjoy the sun, join an exercise class, take dance lessons, or take part in sports or organized deck activities. You can go for a swim, stretch out in the sauna, or work out in the gym. You can see a feature movie, attend a lecture by renowned experts, play backgammon or bridge. And that's just when you're onboard!

What can I do in port?
There are so many choices, it will be hard to decide! You can take a guided tour or go off on your own. You can search for ancient ruins or find great shopping bargains. Ride a raft over river rapids, bicycle down the side of a volcano, or ride a horse across the beach. Climb a waterfall or pyramid. See the birthplace of civilization or listen to steel drum bands. Follow the footsteps of history or the wake of a water-skiing boat. Play golf or tennis. Eat native foods. Learn how to windsurf. Sun and swim at some of the world's best beaches. Catch a record marlin. Sail, snorkel, or go scuba diving. Go to a nightclub or glittering casino. Take a cable car to the top of a mountain. In short, a cruise is the easiest way to see new places and do all the things you dream of. Cruising is the perfect way to sample a number of destinations that you may want to return to for another vacation. And you never have to pack or unpack. the destinations come to you!

Do I have to participate in the activities?
Of course not. This is your vacation! If you choose to lie back and do nothing, or to do everything, it's your choice!

What is there to do at night?
At night on the cruise ship there's dancing, live entertainment in nightclubs, discos and lounges, feature films and parties with all your friends. Most ships have casinos as well. There are many special events to attend: Captain's Cocktail Party, Passenger Talent Night, the Masquerade Parade, and the Late Night Buffet. You can make the night last as long as you want. Even take in a spectacular sunrise at sea.

Is there a charge for entertainment?
No. When you're on a cruise vacation, the entertainment is on the house. No cover. No admission or ticket. No minimum. The shows are live, the movies first-rate. The variety is limitless.

Is it easy to meet people?
A cruise ship is a great place to meet new friends, because the atmosphere is cordial and relaxed, and everyone's so friendly. You'll have all kinds of things to talk about in common at dinner, at cocktails, around the pool, or the promenade rail. And don't be surprised if you make plans to meet them next year!

Will there be people like me?
All kinds of people take cruises, and there's no such thing as a typical cruise passenger! Passengers can vary from ship to ship and cruise to cruise. Just ask your travel agent for recommendations on the best ship for you, based on your tastes and lifestyle.

Can singles have fun on a cruise?
Absolutely. If you're traveling alone, most ships have parties just for singles early on, so you can get to meet other people right away. Most ships have single cabins as well as single rates for double staterooms. In many cases, a cruise line will even find you a roommate to share a double with, if you ask them.

Is cruising right for honeymooners?
Without a doubt, cruising offers an atmosphere that's perfect for romance with dinners for two, moonlit strolls along the deck, and dancing under the stars. Most lines provide special services from Sunday or Monday departures with champagne and breakfast in bed. (Speaking of beds, most ships have double, queen, or king sizes.) Some ships offer special programs for performing a marriage ceremony or renewing your marriage vows in port.

What is the secret to a great cruise?
Your attitude. If you begin the cruise with a positive attitude, you will have a good time. A cruise is what you make of it. Get to know the crew members - dining room staff, cruise director and staff, the cabin steward. Who knows? You might even learn something new.

Where can I learn more about cruising?
The most popular magazine is called Cruise Travel, published every second month, and costs about $12USD per year. Two other magazines are Ocean Cruise News and Porthole Magazine. You can also do research at your library, or while you're at our website, have a look at our comprehensive destination descriptions.

What about passengers with special needs?
Please check with your travel agent for details on accessibility and assistance available on ships. Many cruises can also accommodate special diets.

What about laundry and electrical outlets?
For a reasonable fee most cruiselines will do your laundry and dry cleaning in just one day. Bring your blow dryer and electric razor from home as you won't need an adaptor.
