Monet and Renoir (main dining rooms)
Two double-tiered formal dining halls with four seating times allow diners to catch the evening shows. The menu, under the eye of French master chef Georges Blanc, features a range of vegetarian and meat-lover’s options. Breakfast and lunch are held in Monet, with its water-view windows on three sides.

Restaurant Cezanne
The spacious and colorful two-level lido buffet presents standard fare in addition to specialty counters for Asian, grilled, and deli foods. Tucked away on the second level is the Sur Mer seafood station; 24-hour pizza is available just outside, near the Sky Pool. Lines form at the free self-serve ice cream machines. At night most of the stations close down and the buffet transforms into a casual dinner eatery called Seaview Bistro.

The Point
Offering intimate dining at $25 per person, this alternative restaurant serves delicacies from stone crabs to prime cuts of beef. A well-trained wait staff, knowledgeable sommelier, and complimentary after-dinner drink complete the pampering experience.

Café Patisserie
Espresso drinks, ice cream, and other sweets are available on the Promenade deck for a surcharge.

Sushi Bar
Located on Impressionist Boulevard, the sushi bar offers free appetizers during cocktail hour.

Room Service
Continental breakfast, soups, salads, and sandwiches are delivered anytime, all complimentary.

ENTERTAINMENT AND PUBLIC AREAS

Conquest’s staggered riser-type pool decks mean there’s always a spot to set a deck chair within people-watching distance of a pool. Impressionist Boulevard is the place to meet up with the group or take a leisurely indoor stroll past shops, the casino, meeting rooms, and lounges. Most of the bars and lounges are named after and decorated with lush renditions by the famed painters of the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist movements.

Bars, lounges, and casinos:

  • Tahiti Casino: Gauguin-style décor; 270 slot machines
  • Impressionist Bar: Located in casino
  • Degas Lounge: Art auctions; dancing
  • Vincent’s (Van Gogh) Lounge:
  • Gaughin’s Bar: Sports TVs
  • Henri’s Dance Club: Disco
  • Alfred’s Bar: Jazz and cigar club
  • Blues: Sing-along piano bar
  • Latour: Wine bar
  • Sun and Sky bars: Pool deck bars

Swimming pools:

  • Sun Pool: All-ages; Lido deck center
  • Sky Pool: All-ages; under sliding roof; adult-only spas; Lido deck aft
  • Stairs Pool: Waterslide; Panorama deck
  • Children’s Pool: Camp Carnival, Sun deck

Shows:

Spicy cancans, a song-and-dance tribute to Paris, and other big productions take place at the three-tiered Toulouse-Lautrec show lounge. Seats are plush scarlet and small drink tables are inset with bright art prints. Large windmills representing the Moulin Rouge flank the stage.

Shore excursions

Purchase tours from your cabin TV and avoid lines at the lobby desk. Conquest stops at Montego Bay, Jamaica; Grand Cayman; and Cozumel, Mexico. Along with Grand Cayman and Belize, Cozumel offers the best diving and snorkeling sites in the Caribbean. In some areas, visibility reaches 250 feet, and prime sites for “divehards” include Palancar Reef (the second longest reef system in the world).

Best choice for snorkelers and dolphin lovers: Chankanaab National Park, where you can enjoy some of Cozumel’s best snorkeling and also spend approximately 30 minutes in the water with dolphins. (Minimum age 6.) Duration three hours; price $155.

For history buffs, tours go to the ruins at either Chichen Itza or Tulum, the two prime Mayan sites on the Yucatan. Duration seven to eight hours; price $75. Dunn’s River Falls thrills the active and foot-sure in Jamaica; the stingray sandbar wows in Grand Cayman.

KID STUFF

The 3,300-square-foot Camp Carnival facilities are among the largest of any Carnival ship. Younger kids have bright, airy play rooms, an outdoor wading pool, and jungle gym. An expanded Deck 12 game room and teen area, decorated to resemble the back alleys of the infamous Montmartre district of 19th-century Paris, sports a dance floor, video wall, lounge, soft-drink bar and state-of-the-art video games. Kids can also take geography and science lessons through the EduCruise program. Babysitting from 10 PM to 3 AM is offered for a fee.

Activities are available for the following age groups:

  • Toddlers, Ages 2-5 (with parents, if necessary)
