Imagination and Inspiration Dining Rooms (main dining rooms)
These two elaborate dining rooms host four popular dinner seatings nightly; one of the rooms serves breakfast and lunch each day as well. Dinner highlights include Beef Wellington, pan-seared Red Snapper, Baked Alaska, and performances by the peppy yet professional wait staff, which has been known to break into the Macarena on more than one occasion.

Tiffany’s Bar & Grill
This Lido Deck favorite offers both indoor and poolside seating and serves exclusively buffet-style breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Its casual atmosphere is popular amongst passengers, who flock en masse to partake of roast beef, Indian or Mexican dishes, and a plethora of desserts.

Located inside Tiffany’s Bar & Grill, this pie shop dishes out hot slices with gourmet toppings (think chevre and wild mushrooms) 24 hours a day.

Lido Grill
The menu is simple—cheeseburgers, hot dogs, fries, and other American classics—and the execution is flawless.

Sushi bar
Expect a line at Elation’s popular sushi bar, which serves complimentary fresh rolls from 5 PM to 8:30 PM nightly.

Musical Cafe
A chocolate and/or caffeine lover’s paradise, this out-of-the way café serves rich desserts, coffee drinks, milk shakes, and the like.

Midnight gala buffet
Don’t miss this lavish one-night-only feast, which is easily as much of a treat for the eyes as for the appetite.

Room Service
Complimentary room service is available 24 hours a day, and features simple sandwiches, fruits, salads, and desserts.

Elation is loaded with bars, lounges, swimming pools, hot tubs, and show venues, all of which adhere to a theme that celebrates distinguished figures of literature, cinema, and music. Elation Way, the ship’s main promenade, is the gateway to the action. From the ship’s action-packed casino games to the piano tunes at Duke’s Bar, Elation offers activities to suit all types. Deck areas bustle with water activities, and live music animates the main Lido pool. Cruisers harboring a need for quiet time head to the Mark Twain Library or the Card Room.

Bars, lounges, and casinos:

  • Duke’s Bar: Regulars as well as newcomers are spotted at Duke’s where the pianist plays tunes by request each evening.
  • Romeo & Juliet Lounge: This laid-back dance club—with a hint of romance—is an inviting place to meet fellow cruisers and enjoy live music and deejays.
  • Cole Porter Lounge: “Karaoke kraziness” and live music performances are popular draws at this venue which also hosts the ship’s art auctions.
  • Casablanca Casino: High rollers frequent this gambling paradise where Craps, Blackjack, slot machines, and Roulette activities lure game players.
  • Gatsby’s Great Bar: Passengers can enjoy a lively conversation or catch an aperitif before supper at this speakeasy joint.
  • Jekyll & Hyde Disco: Open until the wee hours, this spot is a disco-goer’s dream for late-night dancing and revelry.
  • Drama Bar: “Funship speed dating” and Charades are just a few of the activities that attract singles and aspiring actors to this popular Promenade Deck hangout.
  • Plaza Bar: A great mid-ship gathering spot, the always active Plaza Bar is a popular place for guests to partake in a leisurely libation just before dinner or a show.
  • The Patio: Set poolside, this bar offers refreshing libations and ample shaded seating, perfect for Lido Deck people watching.
  • Mark Twain Library: Books and games piled high in glass-encased cabinets and ornate, polished woodwork make this warm and welcoming room a peaceful spot for quiet reading or game playing.

Swimming pools:

  • Main Lido Pool: This bustling pool complex is home to a corkscrew waterslide, snack bar, a stage, and plenty of sunshine.
  • Verandah Deck Pool: Located aft, this quieter pool is good for sunning and serves as an escape from the larger crowds.
  • Children’s Wading Pool: This petite pool built for the tots is a great place to splash and play.

At the center of Elation’s packed schedule of entertainment is the Mikado Lounge, a 1,300-seat theater that hosts multiple comedy, audience-participation, and Vegas-style revues daily. Costumes and sets are elaborate, and the Funship dancers offer high-spirited, precision choreography. The two-deck high lounge also holds important informational meetings, such as the debarkation talk, for passengers.

  • Welcome Aboard Show: An engaging host and hostess, zesty choreography, and well-rehearsed dance numbers offer entertainment-loving passengers a taste of things to come while onboard.
  • Spin: Through stage and sound, guests are transported to exotic destinations in this Broadway-style production, which is complete with playful costumery and an elaborate, ever-changing set.
  • Carnival Legends Show: One of the Mikado Lounge’s biggest draws, the passengers’ raw talent—complimented by skilled Carnival dancers— is unveiled as they perform as Elvis, Sinatra, Madonna, or other popular icons.

Shore Excursions:

Carnival offers a wide range of shore excursions, including walking tours, kayak trips, trolley rides, lobster bakes, pub crawls, and wine tastings. A shore excursions talk, held in the Mikado Lounge and re-run on the cabin TVs, provides an overview of each activity. Passengers can book excursions online, onboard via cabin TVs, or at the shore excursion desk. No last-minute discounts are offered, but late-comers can often join a tour on the dock or swap a pre-booked trip for another one in the same port. A 25 percent fee is levied on any cancellations, and no refunds are offered on tours cancelled within 24 hours of arrival.

Some of the most popular offerings are:

  • Blow Hole Tour: A 25-mile ride along the scenic Baja California countryside leads passengers to La Bufadora, home to a natural sea spout spraying 60–100 feet of sea water into the air. After viewing this famous blow hole, passengers also have time for shopping in the local area before returning to the Elation.
  • Dolphin Swim: Participants of this shore excursion are placed into small groups where they nudge noses and playfully interact with friendly dolphins. Activities are lead by a knowledgeable instructor and include dolphin kisses, dancing, and dorsal fin tows across a large pool.
  • Whale Watching: A 100-foot, double-deck Catamaran takes passengers past the beaches along the Sea of Cortez to spots where whales and sea lion colonies can be viewed. A visit to the famous Lover’s Beach is also included in this two-hour coastal cruise experience.

Elation’s youth experience includes free activities for four separate age groups ranging from 2 to 17 years; these programs run from early morning until late evening daily. Options include everything from toddler tumbling to teen dance-offs. Young passengers engaging in scavenger hunts, ping-pong tournaments, or arts and crafts activities can also be seen onboard. Facilities include the 2,400-square-foot Camp Carnival Children’s World, a children’s play pool, and a video arcade.

Activities are available for the following age groups:

  • Camp Carnival, ages 2–5, 6–8, and 9–11
  • Circle “C,” ages 12–14
  • Club O2, ages 15–17

Elation’s 12,000-square-foot spa and gym complex is housed on the 12th-level Sports Deck, which also is home to a beauty salon and aerobics room. The spa area is devoted to health and well-being, with seminars, such as “Detox for Health and Weight Loss,” running daily. Treatments are tailored to the individual, and spa menus are offered for both men and women. Selections range from seaweed massages to facials to cellulite reduction. The adjacent fitness room offers free weights, treadmills, and a host of additional aerobics training equipment. For those wanting additional options, the ship’s jogging track and mini-golf course are located just one deck above.

  • Stationary bikes, elliptical trainers, treadmills, and stair steppers
  • Free weights
