Itinerary

• Day 1 - Depart USA Overnight flight to Frankfurt.



• Day 2 - Arrive Frankfurt (Offenbach) Welcome to Germany! Late this afternoon, we enjoy an orientation tour of Frankfurt including medieval Römerplatz. Later we enjoy a Welcome Drink with our Tour Director.

• Day 3 - Frankfurt (Offenbach) – Rhine Cruise – Cologne This morning we take a relaxing Rhine Cruise from St. Goar to Boppard, as we rejoin our coach we drive past Bonn, Beethoven’s birthplace. Then we continue to Cologne to see its gothic cathedral, before reaching our hotel. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)

• Day 4 - Cologne – Hamburg Today we drive into Lower Saxony en route to Hamburg, with the chance to take a harbour cruise. Later, an orientation tour includes the inner Alster Lake. We dine in our hotel tonight. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)

• Day 5 - Hamburg – Berlin (2 nights) This morning we follow the Elbe valley and cross the former ‘Iron Curtain’ to the historic city of Berlin. (Buffet breakfast)

• Day 6 - Berlin sightseeing and at leisure Our sightseeing tour features highlights of both East and West including the Brandenburg Gate, Unter den Linden Boulevard, the German State Opera House and the Reichstag Building. Later, time at leisure. (Buffet breakfast)
  



• Day 7 - Berlin – Dresden Today we drive to Dresden – known as ‘Florence on the Elbe’. On arrival our orientation includes the Opera House and Zwinger Palace. Later, why not take an optional tour to The Treasury and Schloss Moritzburg? (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)

• Day 8 - Dresden – Modlareuth – Bayreuth – Nuremberg First to Modlareuth to visit the open-air museum. From here we continue to Bayreuth to see the Wagner Festival Theater, and on to Nuremberg with orientation on arrival, which will show us the mighty ramparts, bustling market place and St. Sebald’s Cathedral. Tonight we enjoy a Highlight Dinner in a local restaurant. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)

• Day 9 - Nuremberg – Rothenburg – Munich (2 nights) After breakfast we drive to the chocolate-box town of Rothenburg, where we enjoy a walking tour and our Tour Director reveals a special Hidden Treasure. Then time to shop before we drive to the lively Bavarian capital, Munich, where we see The Olympic Stadium, Ludwigstrasse and Marienplatz on arrival. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)

• Day 10 - Munich at leisure Today we enjoy a full day at leisure. (Buffet breakfast)



• Day 11 - Munich – Dachau – Donauschingen We drive to Dachau village where we visit the sinister concentration camp. From here our ascent into the Bavarian Alps brings us to view Neuschwanstein, Mad King Ludwig’s fairytale castle, which is perched high above the village of Schwangau. Tonight, we dine at our hotel which is situated close to the Black Forest region. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)

• Day 12 - Donauschingen – Heidelberg – Frankfurt First to elegant Baden-Baden and on to the ‘Student Prince’ city of Heidelberg with its dominant castle and courtyards. Tonight we enjoy a Farewell Dinner together in Frankfurt. (Buffet breakfast / Farewell dinner)

• Day 13 - Frankfurt (Offenbach) – USA This morning there is time to bid farewell to our Tour Director and traveling companions as our vacation comes to an end. Airport transfers are available, conditions apply. (Buffet breakfast)

Airport Transfers

• London Gateways: Transfers can be expensive, particularly between the airport and your London hotel. But when you book your Trafalgar tour and take advantage of our land and air packages, we have included a FREE transfer to and from London’s airports and your Trafalgar London hotel. For passengers who have their own flight arrangements we offer you the opportunity to purchase inexpensive transfers to and from London’s Heathrow – Trafalgar has negotiated special rates for the Dot2Dot transfer from London’s Heathr
• Important – Please Note: Passengers will only be entitled to transfers to and from London Airports providing the following conditions are met:
• For included transfers: Your flights must be booked directly by Trafalgar no fewer than 21 days prior to departure. For chargeable transfers: Your Travel Agent provides detailed flight information to Trafalgar no fewer than 21 days prior to departure. Once transfers are booked they cannot be changed.
• For London arrivals, you must stay at a London hotel booked by Trafalgar on the night of arrival and the night prior to your departure date.
• Trafalgar only includes one inbound and one outbound transfer.
• In the event of flight delays outside of Trafalgar’s control, the transfers will be deemed to be cancelled.
• All transfers are based on group transfers. No refund is therefore available for missed transfers, or passengers not using this service.
• In the event of unforeseen events (such as road or rail works, strikes or demonstrations), Trafalgar will not be responsible for delayed or cancelled transfers.

• Gatwick Airport: Passengers who have booked Trafalgar’s Land and Air packages arriving at London’s Gatwick Airport are provided with a Gatwick Express train voucher. The Gatwick Express train journey from Gatwick Airport to London’s Victoria Station takes 30 minutes. Guests then need to make their way from Victoria Station to their Trafalgar hotel.
• European Gateways: With Trafalgar all passengers will receive complimentary arrival and departure transfers on the scheduled arrival and departure day of their tour at the times specified below. Please ensure your Travel Agent reserves your flight to co-ordinate with the transfer times shown.
• Trafalgar Bonus - Passengers who book Trafalgar's Land+Air package and who arrive or depart outside of these specified times on the scheduled arrival and departure day of the tour will also be provided with a transfer.
